A Mama Kiss
2006 & 2011I find myself frequently telling Hallie that it takes a brave, bold spirit to be sent down to a family as the first child. Heavenly Father trusts her to lead out among her sisters (and knew she'd be forgiving to her parents as they try and figure the whole parenting thing out). She's such a good big sister and really tries to do what's right. She's a huge tease and sometimes it drives me crazy but I thank Heavenly Father every single day for sending me her. I found these pictures on my computer tonight and uttered the typical phrase that every parent says one time or another...
"They just grow up so fast."
Tonight we had our nightly bedtime routine and when we get to the part where I blow kisses through the doorway to them I saw Hallie grab my kiss in the air and tuck it into her pocket. Sam, always paying attention to details, said, "Hallie! What did you put in your pocket?!" I listened to the following conversation ensue down the hallway.
Hallie: Oh Sam, mom just blew me a kiss.
Sam: Why did you put it in your pocket?
Hallie: I put half of it on my cheek and the other half in my pocket so that I can always carry around a mama kiss.
Yes my friends. My heart did swell a bit.
