Viva Las Vegas

So, the truth is, I really don't like Las Vegas. I know some people love the place but, I am not one of them. Sure the lights and the shows and the food are all exciting but overall...it just makes me feel dirty.

Rod gave me Celine Dion tickets for Christmas and I will admit, I cried when I opened the present. And I wasn't even pregnant at the time. Still tears.

Yes, true excitement was had that Christmas morning.

But then, I really did get pregnant and with that comes the dreaded sickness for me. A lovely time had for all.

We were suppose to go see Celine in March but I couldn't go too far without using the ladies room. As in, I couldn't really leave my house...or my bedroom. So with more tears we had to reevaluate and decided that August would be a better time to go. I would be over the 1st trimester woes and we could go celebrate our Anniversary. Good plan.

We dropped off the girls at my mom's and flew down Vegas. Once we got there we had to take a shuttle to our hotel. After we got on the shuttle, we both looked at each other and realized we had one dollar to our name. We had forgotten to get some cash. We were laughing as we tried to plot how we could hurry and get off the shuttle and grab our bags without tipping the driver. I told Rod to get the driver's business card or something so we could send him a tip. I really did feel bad we didn't have anything to give him. I thought a $1.00 bill was probably an insult. He was so nice too! So, we hung our heads in shame and grabbed our bags and walked away.

I really did feel bad.

Oh well. What do ya do?

We checked into our hotel room at Caesar's Palace and we actually got spoiled from the sweet lady who checked us in. I think she took pity on my red, sweaty face and pregnant belly because she upgraded our basic room to a super posh suite at no extra charge. Let's see a picture you ask!?? Well, I left my camera in the car! The car parked at the SL airport. I was so sad about that. The room was really, really nice. I don't think I've ever stayed in a nicer room.

We spent the afternoon walking around and checking out different shops while we waited for the concert that night. Rod got carded at the spot we picked for lunch. Once again, we just laughed. He asked the lady if he really looked under 21. She just said, "yes you do." We had two people ask us if this was our first baby. We laughed again as we said this was our 3rd. One lady asked if we were married to each other. Not just married. Married to each other. "Yes, Ma'am we are."

The concert was amazing. So, so good. Her voice is just as clear and beautiful in real life. The special effects were impressive even if you weren't a Celine fan. There were a lot of French people there. Most of them cried. It made Rod laugh. I admit though, her first song gave me chills....and maybe a tear.

Happy 8 years. I'm the lucky one.

What a fun trip! I think whenever I think about Celine in concert I think about the movie...how to lose a guy in 10 days and how she made him miss the game. So that is what I think of :)
Glad you had fun and your mom could watch your kids!
